Zero Bridge soon to open for traffic

The Zero Bridge, located two kms from city centre Lal Chowk, is being strengthened and upgraded to a motorable bridge.

Srinagar: Soon, one could drive through the historic `Zero Bridge` in city with the Jammu and Kashmir government reviving the six-decade old structure that would be opened for traffic.

The Zero Bridge, located two kms from city centre Lal Chowk, is being strengthened and upgraded to a motorable bridge, managing director Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) Madan Gupta said.

The bridge, where several movies have been shot, was closed for vehicular traffic two decades ago and only pedestrian movement was allowed.
The work to strengthen the bridge was undertaken following the government`s effort to revive all the old and heritage bridges across the Valley.
