Jharkhand today declared twelve of its 24 districts as drought-hit following poor monsoon.

its 24 districts as drought-hit following poor monsoon.
The districts are - Palamau, Latehar, Ramgarh, Chatra,
Sareikela-Kharswan, Khunti, East Singhbhum, Jamtara, Dhanbad,
Bokaro, Ranchi and Giridih, Cabinet Secretary Aditya Swaroop
The Governor`s advisory council took the significant
decision at its meeting at Raj Bhavan, he said.
The state would send a report to the Centre after
submission of reports by all the departments enlisting their
Disaster management department has Rs 390 crore, from
which money would be spent to deal with the drought in these
districts, he said.
