3 killed, 7 injured as bus overturns in Dumka

Dumka (Jharkhand): Three persons were killed and seven others injured, including two seriously, when a bus overturned near Chailapathar village in Dumka district Wednesday.

The driver of the bus, on its way to Dumka from Jamtara, lost control over the vehicle after it was passing over the speedbreaker and overturned, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Chandan Kumar.

Two persons were killed on the spot while eight others, including a woman sustained injuries.

One of the victims was identified as Sanjay Hansda of Jamtara district.

The injured were rushed to Sadar hospsital in Dumka, where they were admitted, Kumar said adding that two seriously injured passengers - Dhananjay Dey and Yusuf Ansari - were referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi.

However, Dey succumbed to his injuries when arrangements to shift him to Ranchi were being made, he added.
