45 abandoned houses collapse due to subsidence in Jharkhand

Altogether 45 abandoned houses, including 15 Bharat Coking Coal Limited quarters, on Saturday collapsed following subsidence at Angar Pathra in Dhanbad district, a senior BCCL official said.

Dhanbad: Altogether 45 abandoned houses, including 15 Bharat Coking Coal Limited quarters, on Saturday collapsed following subsidence at Angar Pathra in Dhanbad district, a senior BCCL official said.

"The subsidence occurred between 3 am and 3.30 am. The area was declared dangerous last year itself," general manager (BCCL-Area No 4) AK Dutta said here.

Dhanbad Superintendent of Police Hemant Toppo said all the houses were abandoned and there was no casualty.
