Abducted assistant station master set free in Jharkhand

The assistant station master of Keteki railway station in Latehar district was let off on Sunday by a gang of four criminals, police said.

"The gang of four criminals freed assistant station master Ajay Kumar Ekka following intensive combing operation launched by the CRPF, the Railway Protection Force and the district police", the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Latehar's Barwadih area, Ashwini Kumar, told newsmen.

Stating that Ekka was kidnapped for ransom, Kumar said the security men searched the forests bordering Palamau and Latehar districts and secured Ekka unharmed, after he was abducted him in the wee hours on Saturday.
