Ranchi: BJP will vote against the Shibu
Soren government if it takes the floor test instead of
resigning, senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha said Tuesday.

"If Chief Minister Shibu Soren seeks vote instead of
resigning, BJP will vote against his government," he told
reporters at the airport here.

BJP, which has 18 members in the 82-member Assembly, had
yesterday withdrew support to the nearly five-month-old
government reducing it to a minority.

The JD(U), which has two MLAs, also withdrew support to
the government. The Soren government now has the support of 25
MLAs, including 18 of its own, five of the AJSU and two
others.

Following the development, Governor M O H Farooq asked
Soren to prove his majority on the floor of the Assembly by
May 31.

BJP leader Raghuvar Das, who had been asked by Farooq
to furnish signatures of all BJP MLAs in the withdrawal
letter, has convened a legislative party meeting tomorrow to
collect them.

"Some MLAs are out of station and will come tomorrow ...
Reports that a number of them are unhappy over the withdrawal
of support are not true," BJP state unit spokesman Sanjay Seth
said.

"The decision to withdraw support was made by the central
leadership and is final," he said.

JMM leader Suraj Mandal denied reports of BJP national
general secretary and party`s chief ministerial candidate
Arjun Munda meeting Soren during the day.

Meanwhile, independent MLA Bidesh Singh said in Palamau
that he would vote for Soren during the floor test. "I have
all along been with Guruji (Soren) and will remain with him."
