Bokaro MLA Samresh Singh sent to jail

A local court on Wednesday sent the MLA from Bokaro Samresh Singh to jail in a case of Prevention of Defacement of Property Act 1987, The hearing on Singh`s bail petition will be held tomorrow.

Dhanbad: A local court on Wednesday sent the MLA from Bokaro Samresh Singh to jail in a case of Prevention of Defacement of Property Act 1987, The hearing on Singh`s bail petition will be held tomorrow.

Singh, a JVM party MLA, surrendered in the court of judicial magistrate Kumar Pawan today in connection with the case and was sent to jail after the judge decided to hear his bail petition tomorrow.
The case was related to August 9, 1999 when the then circle officer of Dhanbad and block development officer had filed separate complaints against Singh for writing slogans on the walls of the circuit house and sadar hospital without permission.

The court had declared him absconding on May 30, 2013 when did not appear before it. When he applied for bail on May 20 in the court of criminal revision session judge, he was directed to surrender in a lower court.
Samresh Singh had also contested the Lok Sabha elections from Dhanbad seat, but lost.
