New Delhi: Congress on Tuesday announced names of candidates for 12 assembly constituencies of Jharkhand and replaced the nominee from one seat as it released its fifth list taking the number of candidates declared so far to 52 in the 81-member assembly.
Jyotish Baski has been fielded from Litipara assembly constituency, Sagen Murmu from Dumka, Jay Murmu from Jama, Nirmala Devi from Barkagagon, Jai Shankar Pathak from Hazaribag, and Bimal Kumar Jaiswal from Gomia.
Durga Das has been fielded from Nirsa, Neeraj Singh from Jharia, Ashok Sundi from Chaibasa, Sundri Tirki from Khijri, Surendra Singh from Ranchi and Suresh Baitha from Kanke, and Dinesh Sahu in place of Rakesh Kiran Mahto from Silli.
This is the fifth list of Congress candidates for Jharkhand. Congress recently broke its alliance with JMM in the state and decided to tie up with RJD and JD-U with which it had allied for bypolls in Bihar in August.
The five-phase Assembly polls in Jharkhand are scheduled to begin on November 25.
