Defamation case against Rahul Gandhi transferred

A defamation complaint against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for equating the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh with the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), was today transferred to another court.

Swayamsevak Sangh with the banned Students Islamic Movement of
India (SIMI), was today transferred to another court.

The complaint lodged by petitioner Ashish Kumar Singh
in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Vijay Kumar
yesterday, was transfered to that of Judical Magistrate (First
Class) Amit Shekhar.

Singh, a resident of Ranchi, demanded action against
the Congress leader for reportedly comparing the RSS with the
banned SIMI during a meeting in Bhopal earlier this month.

In a separate complaint case against Arundhati Roy
which was also transfered to the court of Amit Shekar, Singh
demanded action against the writer under section 124 of IPC
(sedition) for her recent reported remarks on Kashmir.
