Five Maoists arrested in Jharkhand

Five hard-core CPI (Maoists), including a sub-zonal commander, were arrested from Diwan Bigha village in Palamu district on Wednesday.

The arrests were made when the Maoists were going on a
four-wheeler to execute a plan but were intecepted by the
police, DIG (Palamu) Laxman Prasad Singh and police
Superintendent Anup T Mathew said.

They told newsmen that the arrested Maoists were
identified as Satender Yadav alias Boss Ji, a sub-zonal
commander, Upendra Yadav, Manoj Singh, Vaidhyanath Yadav and
Sheomurat Choudhury.
The Maoists were involved in various Naxal incidents and
satender, who was active in Aurangabad (Bihar) and Palamu
district of Jharkhand, was the main accused in blowing up of
five primary school buildings on 18th December,2009 in Pipra
in Palamu and attack on security personnel during Assembly
election last year.

Police has seized one pistol, a regular rifle, live
cartridges, three mobile phones, a four-wheeler and Rs12760/-
cash from their possession, they added.
