Jamshedpur: The Mumbai-bound Gitanjali
Express was detained for sometime at Goilkera after the driver
of the pilot engine, which was leading the train, felt severe
jerk on track between the Poisaita-Mahadevsal stations in
Jharkhand this evening, railway sources said.
The 12860 up Howrah-Mumbai Gitanjali express was brought
back to Goilkera from Mahadevsal as a precautionary measure as
the CPI(Maoists) had called for a 48-hour bandh in several
states including Jharkhand to protest the arrest of its three
senior leaders in Katihar, Bihar recently, the sources said.
The train was controlled for about an hour to ensure the
safety of the passengers, sources said adding that the railway
officials searched the tracks during the time.
The trains left for its onwards journey after the search
operation found nothing, sources added.
