Jamshedpur: A teenage girl died of burns
at her home in Sankosai area here in East Singhbhum district
on Tuesday with the police claiming she had left a suicide note
which was being examined.
Not confirming if the suicide on Valentine’s Day was
related to any love affair, a senior officer said prima facie
it appeared 19-year-old Roshni alias Pompa Dutta poured
petroleum products and set herself aflame on the roof in the
wee hours in the steel city.
Dutta, who suffered serious burn injuries, was rushed
to M G M hospital by her family but the doctors declared her
brought dead.
A suicide note was found on the side of the body which
quoted her saying that she was committing suicide but noone
was responsible for it, the official said.
However, investigation was on and her friends and
family were being asked about recent events in her life.
