Medininagar: Two men looted Rs 8.44 lakh in cash from a branch of Vananchal Grameen Bank and injured its manager at Kundri in Palamau district today, the police said.

Two men came on a bike at around 11 am, entered the bank's Kundri branch and looted Rs 8.44 lakh in cash, Palamau police chief AT Mathew told reporters here.

They also fired on branch manager Manoj Kumar when he tried to resist them.

Kumar, however, was out of danger as the bullet just grazed past his body, Mathew said.

The police have launched raids to arrest the looters.
