Latehar: Ahead of the upcomin Assembly elections in the state, in an untoward incident, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Brajmohan Ram from the Latehar constituency was on Friday seriously injured in a road accident, reports stated.
During the accident, Ram's bodyguard and personal assistant died here, police said.
According to reports, Ram is being treated in a hospital in Ranchi.
Ram, a former MP and BJP nominee from Latehar Assembly constituency, was travelling by car when a dumper hit his vehicle from the opposite side between Chandua and Balumath, killing the two and leaving Ram seriously injured.
BJP leader and former chief minister Arjun Munda demanded a probe to ascertain whether it was a mishap or there was any conspiracy behind the incident.
Latehar goes for polls on November 25 in the first of the five-phase of election.
