Jamshedpur: Vowing to resort to agitation
if the state government failed to regularise doctors,
recruited on contract, in the stipulated time frame, the
Indian Medical Association (IMA), Jharkhand, on Monday demanded
the demand be met at the earliest.

The state government had repeatedly announced about
regularising the contract doctors following a decision taken
principally in this regard but no initiative has been taken in
this regard as yet, an official of IMA, Jamshedpur chapter,
said.

Today, only 432 contact doctors were working and their
term would be expired early net year, he said.

Singh said IMA will hold a meeting in Ranchi on May 27
to chalk out future course of action if the government failed
to meet the deadline to regularize the doctors on contract.

To a question, Singh elaborated the agitational
measures included going on strike, wearing black badges,
boycotting of out-patients` department state-wide etc.
