Jharkhand Police have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition belonging to Maoists from state’s Khunti District.

Khunti (Jharkhand): Jharkhand Police have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition belonging to Maoists from state’s Khunti District.

Acting on a tip off, Jharkhand police have attacked a Maoist camp in Torpa area in Khunti district and seized explosives on Sunday.

Superintendent of Police M Tamilvanan said that they had got the information about a training camp of Maoist``s group, People``s Liberation Front of India (PLFI).

"During the search operation, we have recovered two improvised explosive devices (IED) weighing 35 kilograms, magazines, their dress, literature of PLFI and the data which mentions the number of bullets and weapons possessed by each of the Maoists," said Tamilvanan.

The Maoists fled from the area after a fierce gun battle with the police. (ANI)
