Dumka: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha
(JMM) Monday announced Jaiprakash Bhai Patel as its candidate to fight the November 30 Mandu Assembly bypoll.
"Patel is the youngest son of late JMM leader Teklal
Mahto," JMM leader and Deputy Chief Minister Hemant Soren told a press conference here in the presence of ruling alliance coordination committee chairman Shibu Soren.
The bypoll was necessitated after Mahto, who represented
Mandu, passed away recently.
Hemant Soren said the JMM would request its allies---BJP,
Ajsu party, JD (U)-----to make Patel as the ruling alliance
candidate.
To a question on the BJP-led government completing over a
year in office, JMM chief Shibu Soren replied that the Arjun
Munda government would run smoothly.
