Justice Prasad is new Jharkhand HC Chief Justice

Justice Bhagwati Prasad of the Gujarat High Court was today appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court.

New Delhi: Justice Bhagwati Prasad of the
Gujarat High Court was today appointed as the new Chief
Justice of the Jharkhand High Court.

Justice Prasad (61) has been appointed in place of
Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra who was recently elevated to the
Supreme Court as a Judge.

Justice Sushil Harkauli has been functioning as the
Acting Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court after the
elevation of Justice Mishra.

He enrolled as an advocate with the Rajasthan Bar
Council in 1972 and was elevated as a Judge of the Rajasthan
High Court in 1996.

In 2008, Justice Prasad became a Judge of the Gujarat
High Court.
