Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court today
asked a petitioner demanding a CBI probe into the
disproportionate assets case against ex-chief minsiter Madhu
Koda and other ministers to appear before the court on August
The bench of acting Chief Justice Sushil Kumar
Harkouli and D N Patel asked petitioner Durga Oraon, a social
worker, to clarify certain queries.
Oraon has filed a PIL naming ex-ministers Bhanu Pratap
Sahi, Enos Ekka, Harinarayan Rai, Dulal Bhuyan, Chandraprakash
Choudhary and two Koda aides, Sanjay Choudhary and Binod
Sinha, in his petition acusing them of amassing assets more
than their known source of income.
Meanwhile, Birsa Munda Central Jail authorities,
where koda is presently lodged today informed the Vigilance
court judge Binay Kant Khan that Koda would be shifted to
Tihar Jail so that he can attend the parliament session.
The dates for the shift has, however, not been decided
upon so far.
The court had recently allowed Koda, now in judicial
custody, to attend the monsoon session of the Parliament as he
represents Singhbhum Lok Sabha constituency.
Koda was sent to judicial custody after the vigilance
sleuths had arrested him at Chaibasa on November 30 in
connection with the disproportionate assets case.
The Enforcement Directorate and the income tax
department are separately investigating hawala scam, illegal
investments and tax invasion cases against Koda and his aides.
