Maoist camp destroyed, one arrested, arms seized

A joint team of CRPF and police destroyed a Maoist camp in Krupapani reserve forest in Sundargarh district bordering Jharkhand, arrested a Maoist and seized a huge a cache of arms, police sources said.

Rourkela: A joint team of CRPF and police
destroyed a Maoist camp in Krupapani reserve forest in
Sundargarh district bordering Jharkhand, arrested a Maoist and
seized a huge a cache of arms on Saturday, police sources said.

In a joint operation, Sundargarh police and CRPF
personnel raided the naxal camp in the early hours of today
leading to an exchange of fire with the red ultras, the
sources said.

However, no security personnel suffered any injury. The
security forces were able to capture one of the maoists and
seized five bags, five mobiles and four rifles from the spot.

Superintendent of Police of Sundargarh Dipak Kumar said
destruction of the maoist camp was a major success in anti
naxal operation.

Combing operation and search was still continuing in
the dense forest, while interrogation of the arrested maoist
was on, he added.
