Maoists clash with other inmates in Garhwa jail

A dozen prisoners, mostly Maoists, were today injured when a clash broke out inside the Sadar jail in Garhwa, police said.

inside the Sadar jail in Garhwa, police said.

The clash broke out between the jailed Maoists and
another inmate, Vikas and his supporters, the Garhwa police
station in-charge Amitabh Rai told newsmen here.

Five of the injured have been admitted to the Sadar
hospital, he added.

Trouble started at the jail`s sick room when both the
Maoists and the supporters of Vikas insisted upon being
attended to first by the compounder, leading to fisticuffs and
subsequent hospitalisation of five inmates, including Maoists,
he said.

The situation is under control now, he added.
