Ranchi: Jharkhand Speaker C P Singh
on Friday dismissed the opposition concerns that whether his visit
to the residence of Jharkhand High Court Chief Justice
Bhagawati Prasad had flouted protocol.

"He (the judge) is in my home town. I have never
visited his residence. So I called on him. where is the
question of protocol," Singh said in the state assembly.
The Speaker’s reply came after Jharkhand Vikas Morcha
(Prajatantric) legislative party leader Pradip Yadav sought to
know whether the speaker’s visit to the place of chief justice
here last night was keeping in accordance with protocol.

Naturally, some interaction took place between them,
Singh said, but added that he could not tell anything more.

Intervening in the matter, Deputy Chief Minister
Sudesh Mahto said every one respects the High Court and there
should not be any concern on anything whatsoever.

The Speaker had yesterday supported ruling BJP MLA
Ramchandra Baitha’s concern over disconnection of water and
electricity supply to some residences in Ranchi following the
high court’s order to cut off the twin facilities to buildings
where norms had been flouted.
He had asked how could residents live without water
and electricity with the onset of summer.

Today also Baitha raised the issue with Deputy Chief
Minister Hemant Soren saying that the government would file an
affidavit against the order and would make alternative
arrangement to provide water to such houses where supply had
been cut off.
