Nashik: Maharashtra Chief Minister
Prithviraj Chavan Friday said that the ruling Shiv Sena and BJP combine in the Nashik municipal corporation had failed to
bring about development in the city.
The CM expressed confidence that people would vote out
the saffron alliance in the three metropolises -- Mumbai, Pune
and Nashik.
Chavan released the manifesto of Congress, NCP and
People's Republican Party (PRP) combine for the Nashik Municipal Corporation election here today.
State PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Balasaheb Thorat,
PRP's Jogendra Kawade and NCP MP, Sameer Bhujbal were present
on the occasion.
If voted to power, the Congress-NCP-PRP alliance would
provide basic amenities and push development of railway
network, ring roads, airport and garbage system. The alliance
would also carry out works speedily for 2015-16 Kumbh Mela which would be held in Nashik, he said.
Among other things, Cong-NCP-PRP alliance's manifesto
promises clean vegetable markets, better hospitals, rehabilitation of slums, development of Godavari river bank,
setting up of Kavita Raut Sports Academy, Dadasaheb Phalke
Film and Arts Academy, a zoo, etc.
