Speaker annoyed over media reporting expunged remarks

Jharkhand Assembly Speaker C P Singh took exception to a section of the media reporting yesterday`s expunged remarks during the proceeding of the house.

Ranchi: Jharkhand Assembly Speaker C P
Singh on Friday took exception to a section of the media reporting
yesterday`s expunged remarks during the proceeding of the
house.

Disappointed over the media highlighting the expunged
part of the proceeding, Singh asked why should certain things
be expunged when they appeared in the media.

"I will not expunge anything; let the members say
whatever they like," Singh said with a tinge of sarcasm.

BJP MLA Amit Yadav had raised the issue during the
last session too, while objecting to the media coverage on
expunged proceedings in the house.

The Speaker`s reaction came after JVM-P MLA and former
minister Samresh Singh climbing the house reporters` table
today in protest against the rejection of his adjournment
motion, which was allowed only to be read in the house by the
Speaker.

"You (the MLAs) will pay for all these disrespectful
deeds in the house," the speaker said.
