There should be no politics on Naxalism: Munda

Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda said that Naxal problem is a serious issue and there should not be any politics in it.

Medininagar: Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda on Thursday said all sections of society should come forward to ponder over how a permanent solution could be found in rooting out extremism.

Naxal problem is a serious issue and there should not be any politics in it. It requires participation of all people to discuss and find a solution, Munda said here.

He was responding to a media query on the Maoist attack on former speaker Inder Singh Namdhari’s convoy on December three, which the Independent MP blamed on alleged failure of intelligence network resulting in the killing of 10 policemen and a child.
Munda urged the Centre to speed up forest clearance so that about 150 development projects could begin.

Stating that all round progress was his government’s priority, Munda said local vigilance cells could prevent irregularities, if any, in the implementation of schemes under social security.

The Chief Minister said watershed programmes would be initiated to meet water shortage in the future.

On the prospects of re-opening the Japla Cement Factory in Palamau, Munda said the company was under private management and the state could think of it only when the owners would approach the government.

The factory has been closed about 20 years ago.
