Train services disrupted in Jharkhand

Trains services between Rourkela and Tatanagar station on Howrah-Mumbai route was disrupted on Sunday after a wire was found lying on the tracks at Sonua station of Maoist-hit West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

"There was a disruption in movement of trains for one-and-a-half hour following the detection of a wire on thetrack. It was removed by Railway Protection Force (RPF)
personnel," KS Mukherjee, senior divisional commercial manager of Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway said.

He said Howrah-Kurla Express, which was stranded at Chakradharpur station since last night and was to leave the station early this morning, left about one-and-a-half hour
behind schedule.

Other long-distance trains were also affected, he said.

Meanwhile, the suspension of running of passengers trains in Maoist-hit areas of Rourkela-Kharagpur has been continuing since Jnaneshwari Express accident near Jhargram on May 28.
