Twenty IEDs recovered in Latehar

Latehar: A major disaster was
averted when security forces detected as many as 20 Improvised
Explosive Devices (IED) in Latehar district on Saturday, police
said.

"The IEDs were laid serially on an unmetalled road at
Gaganpur panchayat under Garu police station," Superintendent
of Police Kranti Kumar told reporters here.

"The explosives were recovered during a search operation
by personnel of the CRPF and district police," he added.

Five IEDS were bigger in size than the others.

The Maoists had apparently planted the explosives to
target security forces involved in combing operations.
