Medininagar: The highly decomposed bodies of two persons were recovered from a hillock at Kakar in Palamu district sparking off protests by locals who allegedly ransacked about a dozen shops here on Saturday.

Bodies of Anwar Ansari and Bardul Ansari, both residents of Mediningar, had left home on October 3 and their bodies were recovered from Parsawan hillock by police last night, Superintendent of Police YS Ramesh said.

Two persons were arrested in this connection, while a hunt is on to apprehend three others, he said.

Meanwhile, enraged protesters from a particular community took out a procession in the town and ransacked about a dozen shops in protest against the killings and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.

Police resorted to a mild lathi-charge to disperse the mob who also put up a road blockade by burning tyres for four hours. The blockade was lifted after police assured them of arresting the culprits soon, Deputy SP Prabhat Ranjan Barwar said.
