Two held for looting gold, cash from pvt finance company

Two persons, both accused in the loot of gold and cash from a private finance company from Adityapur, about three km from Jamshedpur, in Seraikela-Kharswan district were arrested from Palamau district, a senior police officer Monday said.

Following a joint raid by Seraikela-Kharswan and Palamau police, Rahul alias Shakti Singh and Mayank Bhusan alias Pappu Singh were arrested from Panki under Panki police station of Palamau district last night.

Police recovered altogether 4.400 kg of gold ornaments from Panki and Daltongunj on the leads provided by them in course of interrogation, he said.

The arrested persons confessed that the looted cash and gold from Muthoot Finance Limited on October 7 last was shared among seven persons including the two security guards of the finance company, he said.
The duo also named one Dablu Sharma, who was now incarcerating in Seraikela jail on charges of providing a fake documents of a fire-arm and was the brother of the main accused Niwas Sharma, among the seven.

Niwas Sharma, who was at large, was on duty on the day of incident, Mahatha said adding that police will soon take Dablu on remand for interrogation. Mahatha expressed confidence that the other accused too would be arrested soon.

Referring to Rahul Singh, he said Singh was wanted by Chattisgarh and Bihar police in connection with a house dacoity in Ambikapur (Chattisgarh) and truck loot in Aurangabad district of Bihar while Pappu too had criminal antecedent.

Mahatha said the miscreants had looted Rs. 70,000 cash and around 16 to 17 kgs of gold from the finance company after taking the employees at gun point.
