Two Maoists arrested from Jharkhand

Security forces have managed to catch two fleeing Maoists, including one who carried Rs three lakh on his head, from Latehar district, police said.

Latehar (Jharkhand): Security forces have managed to catch two fleeing Maoists, including one who carried Rs three lakh on his head, from Latehar district, police said on Sunday.

CPI (Maoist`s) self-styled sub-zonal commander Pramod Kumar carrying Rs three lakh reward on his head and self-styled area commander Akul Singh tried to escape the police cordon, but were arrested yesterday from Goindi village, Superintendent of Police Kranti Kumar told reporters here.

Kumar faces 24 Naxal-related cases in Palamau division, he said and added a 9mm pistol and seven bullets were recovered from them.
Three other Maoists were arrested from Jharkhand during the past week.
