Two shot dead by Maoists in Khunti

Maoists accused the victims of having links with the rival People`s Liberation Front of India.

Khunti: A man and his son were shot dead by Maoists at Bungtel in Khunti district, police said.

Sixty-year-old Gurucharan Singh Bhuyan and his 32-year-old son Radha Mohan died on the spot, SP M Tamil Vanan said.
About a hundred Maoists came to the village looking for Bhuyan`s another son, Prakash, whom the Maoists accused of having links with the rival People`s Liberation Front of India, he said.
When they did not get information on whereabouts of Prakash, they beat up the villagers, he added.
