Karnataka polls 2013: BJP CMs change like movies in cinema halls, says Azharuddin

Taking on the BJP government in Karnataka, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, Azaharuddin appealed to the people here to vote for Congress to ensure a stable government who can maintain law and order in the state.

Zee Media Bureau Bellary: Taking on the BJP government in Karnataka, the former captain of the Indian cricket team and the Congress Lok Sabha member from Moradabad in Uttar Prdaesh, Azaharuddin on Sunday appealed to the people here to vote for Congress to ensure a stable government who can maintain law and order in the state. The former cricketer was campaigning in the Vijayanagar (Hospet) assembly constituency. While campaigning in the mining town, Azaharuddin called ‘uncle’ to the Congress candidate from Vijayanagar and mining baron Habdul Wahab during his speeches. Comparing the changing of chief ministers by the BJP to the change of movies in cinema halls, Azharuddin said the saffron party is completely corrupt and has destroyed the reputation of Karnataka in the country. The ex-cricketer further said that cricket and politics are entirely different. “It took me 12 long years of hard work to enter the country’s top cricket team but I became a politician and Lok Sabha member within a month. Cricket is played in the stadium whereas in politics, we have to perform before the people in public” Azaharuddin said.
