Balakrishna Gowda, son of former Prime Minister HD Deve
Gowda, seeking quashing of the disproportionate assets case
Counsel for Gowda submitted that the case had been filed
"totally with malafide intention, with not even a whisper
about my misusing office and has been filed by a person
employed by political rival to tarnish my image".
He is facing charges of possessing Rs 70 crore as
disproportionate asset to his known sources of income when he
took voluntary retirement from government service. It is
currently valued at Rs 500 crore.
SN Balakrishna, retired assistant manager of the state
run Visveswarayya Iron and Steel in his September 22 complaint
before the Lokayukta court, had charged Balakrishna Gowda with
possessing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of
income and prayed for action under the Prevention of

submit on November 26 its final report in the case.
