Bangalore: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President G Parameshwar on Thursday slammed the BJP government, which completed four years in office, for "failing to give clean and good governance."

The present government is one of the most corrupt one in the country, which is being dogged by several land scams and illegal mining cases, Parameshwar alleged. "There has also been one instance of police firing against farmers during the BJP rule," he said.

The government has also been rapped by Supreme Court and Karnataka High Court in various land scams and illegal mining cases, Parameshwar said.

Flaying the government`s promise to solve the problems of citizens in six days under `Sakala` scheme, he said there were lakhs of applications pertaining to land right records pending unresolved before revenue officials.

He slammed the government`s claim that there was a shortage of surveyors to record land rights details."Didn`t the government realise the shortage of surveyors before implementing Sakala scheme?" he asked.

There were are also several instances where money had not been sanctioned to the beneficiaries under `Bhagyalaxmi and Widows` Pension` schemes, Parameshwar alleged and sought an explanation from the Chief Minister.

He lambasted government for not handing over the "Rs 20,000-crore" city corporation scam to the CBI even after then Commissioner Siddaiah had acknowledged the scam publicly.

Parameshwar said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would arrive in Hubli on June 2 and take part in party meetings including a youth congress conclave. He would participate in meetings the next day at Davangere before leaving for Delhi, the KPCC chief added.
