Bangalore: A local court Monday fixed October
six for delivering its verdict on the case relating to the
rape and murder of a BPO employee allegedly by a cab driver in
the city five years ago.

The accused Shiva Kumar was produced before the Fast Track
Court judge B V Guddali, who said that the verdict would be
pronounced on October six.

The cold blooded rape and murder of Pratibha
Srikanthamurthy in December 2005 had sent shocks waves through
the BPO industry in the country`s IT capital, forcing many
companies to re-examine their Human Resource Management rules
as the accused cab driver was employed by a firm.

The deceased`s mother Gowramma has been fighting a lone
battle since her daughter`s murder and has attended every
court hearing, anxiously waiting for justice.

So far, 80 witnesses have been examined in the case.
