Bangalore: Karnataka unit of Congress today
said it has constituted an enquiry committee to look into
allegations of misuse of funds collected from donors to help
last year`s flood victims.
KPCC chief R V Deshpande said he would send a report to
the party high command on the issue, which has been raised by
the ruling BJP and opposition JDS.
"I have appointed justice (rtd) N Y Hanumanthappa, former
MP, to enquire into the allegations", Deshpande, who is at the
centre of the controversy, told reporters here.
Deshpande, a former industries minister, has rejected
allegations of misuse of the funds but admitted there was
"misapplication of funds".
