Controversial godman Nithyananda gets bail

Ramanagar (Karna): Controversial self-styled godman Nithyananda was granted bail by the district executive magistrate on Friday, a day after he was re-arrested on charges of disturbing peace.

Ramanagar Deputy Commissioner Sriram Reddy, also the executive magistrate, passed orders granting bail to Nithyananda on furnishing a bond for Rs 1 lakh and two sureties for like sum and directed him not to disturb peace.

Public Prosecutor Nagaraj Reddy opposed bail for Nithyananda who was arrested on June 13 after he appeared before a court to surrender in an assault case and was yesterday slapped with a fresh case of disturbing peace, leading to his arrest for the second time.

The self-styled godman, already facing criminal charges, including rape and out on bail after his arrest in 2010, courted fresh trouble when police on June 8 booked him and his followers for allegedly assaulting a mediaperson at a press conference at his ashram at nearby Bidadi.

Nithyananda has filed a writ petition in the high court seeking Rs 10 crore as damages to his ashram property from the state government.

Reacting to Nithyananda's petition, Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda today said he would not mind going to jail to safeguard the interests of the people.

"I wouldn't mind going to jail to protect people's interest. I will perform my chief ministerial duty even if there are thousands of cases filed against me," Gowda told reporters in Bangalore.

Gowda said he did not take any decision against Nityananda in haste and did it after collecting details about his activities in the ashram.

The chief minister said he was performing his chief ministerial duties in the interest of the state and not against an individual like Nithyananda or an institution.

It is not true that the US-based woman who has granted an exclusive interview to the Kannada channel also filed the same charges with US authorities, and that after an investigation U.S. authorities deemed the charges false and groundless, and then closed the investigation. Perhaps based on the ongoing U.S. investigation, His Honor Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda decided to take preemptive action without the unneeded and wasteful delay of trial? There has been considerable administrative expense to authorities that can be recouped by seizing the 20 acres of Ashram land and any related illegal holdings or bank accounts. His Honor, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda is well qualified to decide upon the lawful and equitable redistribution and reallocation of the assets in a decisive and forceful manner. Any attempts by the ashramites to present, invent or concoct evidence of blackmail by the U.S. based woman can be dealt with by the thorough and impartial coverage by TV and newspaper. Furthermore, any followers or associates of Nithyananda or his accomplice, the 292nd sannidhanam, including his associates and subordinates, should be put under heavy surveillance for reported Rapes, Physical Abusals, Beatings, Slanders, Disrespects for Public Officials, Disrespects for the Press, and Anti-Government Activities.

I can see how foolish karnataka govt and its CM. So, if any lady comes and say negative on CM .. will he be arrested without proof. Come on ! everybody wake up. By the way .. to all non supporters of Nithyananda - please put your mouths shut if I put spy camera in your bedroom and bathroom .. because it is legal according to you. Then I will send you all to jail if you kiss ur wife or girlfriend.

Nobody has right to regulate/restrict others sex/love life. It`s a human rights violation on a single individual, by this whole society (with its idiotic concepts). People like Nithyananda, who has clarity about Pshycology, Emotional wellness, physical wellness knows about their own moral codes (which is based on spiritual/existential principles). And people like Arati Rao, who once signed NDA for sex, has no right to claim innocence now.And this society people, who don`t have intelligence about sex, lifestyle, Emotional/physical/phycological wellness nor have guts to break the societies idiotic concepts can go & die, instead of commenting about Nithyanand.

I was a non-belief person to god, when my wife affected with brain tumor i went to get blessing from swamiji and she is leading happy life. without knowing swamiji the cuel fellows spreading unbelievable rumars O god! forgive this people.

Mr Raghupathy, Why don`t we suggest to all the state governments to close down all the general hospitals. As per your statement, all sick people, including terminally ill, can be saved by this NIthyananda! Govts can pay the Swamiji`s dharshan donations also on behalf of the devotees (which will work out much much cheaper than running hospitals). Please take it up with all heads of the state goverments and do a purposeful service to all the sick people.

Yes, Mr. Raghupathy. We all saw his healing powers when he was arrested in2010. He complained of Chest pain and was taken in a wheel chair with tubes. Also, he fell off a horse and was in a plaster. And when his favorite disciple, Shivananada was arrested, he too complained of chest pain and was hospitalized. And now when his disciples are injured, they go to hospital instead of going straight to him for healing.

People saw how peaceful and wise ashramites were ,-)….. I think ‘Nityananda’ has not taught his ashramites how to behave or answer in a wise manner. Nityananda was the person who lost patience not the media person. If Guru only loses his patience then he is not the person deserving the ‘Guru’ Patta ….. sorry sorry….“Paramahamsa” patta. People who were cheated should come forward and file complaint … so that it ll be a lesson to the cheaters and this makes our future generation to be safer. Please don’t ask people to come to the ashram to meet god… do u think God stays there where such illegal things are going on?

i have been devoted to swamiji for 2 yr now the amouunt of spiritual power he has is shaking the roots of negativity , i salute the brave ,peacefull and wise ashramites who have tolerated idiots like suvarna tv reporters . Swamy has shown us man can be divine , or devil or stpid like most of people who speak out of imgination swamy is adheenam of madurai , a rare yogi pls come to ashram and meet god .

This is so hilarious! Nithyananda got arrested because He was causing unrest? Or was it because of the commotion SuvarnaTV and Arti Rao created? Why were these not investigated? Why did police and the courts jump the gun? Why were the ashramites abused and arrested when they were attacked? Points to ponder....may the truth be revealed soon!

Truth to be revealed soon? You guys said that in 2010. Why don`t you at least go through your own press releases and see for yourself? Or do you want me to do the homework for you? Seeing too much eNTV has damaged your brain, no doubt and I don`t think you guys can ever be cured..Just ponder one thing for now..I can come up with tons more..``Why did his autobiography end with volume 1, just before he sets off wandering? This book was released ages ago. Any idea why nothing after that?``

Do not generalize about people you do not know. Nithyananda is actually giving a lot back to society - you have no clue about it. Only a truly educated, scientific mind can understand Nithyananda`s teachings. Biased idiots like you have no hope of living well or understanding other perspectives. First try to live harmoniously with your family and see how difficult it is manage an ashram and make it a harmonious place.

The ahshram is to throughly investigated by CBI, why the 50 girsl of aged 10-15yrs are available in the asharam. is Nitayandam is selling these girls to soudi or taking their kidnesy livers eyes etc., and selling.We request u to handover the case to CBI and vide publicity is to be given for thies illegal things done by the ashram people, with whose support he did all these illegal things

Dear Kannan! It`s so pathetic to see your pervert nature. When you are in Bangaluru, why don`t you visit and find the facts on your own instead of depending on foolsih media reports? Media told many items like alcohol, etc found in the ashram. Can anyone give the proof? The fact is till now Police could not find any such items in the ashram.
