Bangalore: BJP's Karnataka unit president KS Eshwarappa on Monday met former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa in the Central Jail and discussed about the upcoming bypoll in Bellary.

BJP sources said Eswarappa held consultations with Yeddyurappa on the possible candidate for the Bellary Rural Assembly seat in the wake of former minister B Sreeramulu toying with the idea of seeking re-election as an Independent.

The two leaders also debated on the next election to six legislative council seats likely to be held the next year.

Yeddyurappa's bail application is coming up for hearing tomorrow before the High Court, the outcome of which will decide whether he will walk free from the jail or not.

The High Court had granted bail to Yeddyurappa in one of the graft case in which he has been arrested and hearing continues on the other.
