Zeenews Bureau

Bangalore: Days after the nation stood witness to the fire tragedy at AMRI hospital in Kolkata, a fire broke out at the Columbia Asia hospital in India’s IT capital on Friday afternoon.

Like in Kolkata, the fire broke out in the basement of the hospital but the alert staff averted tragedy by rushing out over 100 patients before the smoke reached the first floor of the building.

Reports quoting one Dr Nandkumar said that the patients have been shifted to other hospitals.

Atleast five fire tenders are at the spot and the situation is said to be in control with the Police Commissioner taking charge.

Columbia Asia Hospital is located in Hebbal near the airport.

Good job done ,by the alert staff and a big tragedy is averted. if you see the fire in tata house, shopping complex, bangalore centrel, mall ,Fire started from the basement where they had their power supply unit or gen set room.I suggest that the power supply unit should be away from main building.

i`m very much upset when i heard the news of a sudden fire tragedy at columbia asia hebbal hospital, but at the same time happy to hear that nobody got injured.what i would suggest is to keep the power unit or the generator room or the electric power transformer outside the main building. this is my humble request to the people concerned as i`m an electrial engineer, i know the pros and cons.

as the rescue operation is concerned its a good job which they have done but it would be always better to keep the main power unit or generator power unit outside the main building
