Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday adjourned to August 22 the hearing of a writ petition filed by
former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa seeking direction to
quash Chapter 22 of the Lokayukta report, which indicted him
in illegal mining scam.

A division bench, comprising Justices K L Manjunath and H
S Kempanna, adjourned the petition after senior counsel for
Yeddyurappa sought time till August 22 for consideration of
the report.
The counsel submitted that he had procured the relevant
documents pertaining to the UV Singh report on illegal mining
and would be filing it before the registry during the course
of the day.

Earlier, the court on August 10 had granted time to the
petitioner to produce the relevant documents of the UV Singh
report.
Yeddyurappa has prayed for quashing of Chapter 22 of the
Lokayukta report, which holds him guilty of financial
transactions between South West Mining Company and Prerana
Education Society, a trust owned and managed by his family in
Shimoga.
