Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court today
directed the state government to file by August 16 its
objections on a petition by three mining firms, challenging
the government orders banning both export of iron ore and
issuance of transport permits.
The directions were given by a division bench, comprising
Chief Justice J S Kehar and Justice Manjula Chellur when the
petition came up for hearing today.
The court also granted the petitioners time till August
18 to file their rejoinders, if any, and listed the matter for
final hearing on August 20.
The firms -- V S Lad and Lad Company, Sesa Goa and
Praveen Chandra -- in a petition filed on August 5, had
contended that the GOs were violative of rules and their
fundamental rights and prayed for quashing both of them.
