HC dismisses contempt petition filed by Nithyananda`s disciple

Karnataka HC dismissed a contempt of court petition filed against a Criminal Investigation Department officer by a woman disciple of self-styled godman Nithyananda, facing charges of rape.

Bangalore: Karnataka High Court on Tuesday dismissed
a contempt of court petition filed against a Criminal
Investigation Department officer by a woman disciple of
self-styled godman Nithyananda, facing charges of rape.

A Division bench, comprising Justice K Shridhar Rao and
Justice K Govindarajulu, dismissed the petition filed by
Anjula Jackson, against the officer, Yogappa submitting that
"the investigating officer had interfered in the course of
justice".

Yogappa has been investigating the charges against
Nithyananda.
