Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court on Monday objected to the name of Governor H R Bhardwaj being dragged in a PIL on the bill banning cow slaughter, in which he had
been made the main respondent.

When the petition filed by a city-based advocate H R Vishwanath came up before a Division bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice A S Bopanna, the former
objected to the Governor being named in the petition.
The petitioner then submitted that he would amend the petition. The court adjourned the hearing to October Four. The petitioner had submitted that not giving consent to the bill passed by the Legislature would "adversely affect the farmers as cattle is the mainstay of agriculture".
