Bangalore: A special court on Wednesday
adjourned the trial in the disproportionate assets case
against former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to
June 14.
When the case came up for hearing before Judge B M
Mallikarjunaiah, the counsel for Jaya sought over 10 days time
stating that certified copies of necessary documents were
still not ready.
However, Special Public Prosecutor B V Acharya argued
that all the requisite documents had already been given and
"the reason was just a pretext to seek adjournment."
After hearing both sides, Judge Mallikarjunaiah adjourned
hearing of the case to June 14.
