Bengaluru: In an incident of superstition which can be called an example of inhumanity, a couple in Karnataka's Bidar district partially buried its 9-month-old child in a mount of dirt during the solar eclipse which occurred last week on Wednesday.

The child is paralysed and due to this disability, he can't feel his legs.

Hopping to cure their child's ailment, the parents kept their child half-buried inside the heap of dirt for nearly three hours, as per India Today.

Reacting to the incident, Ashok Kenny, MLA of Bidar district said, “In Bidar, 86% of the people are below poverty level. We can correct the superstition through education. Even the educated people are superstitious...I consider our generation as a lost generation when it comes to superstition. Let’s do something about the next generation. Let’s us educate them and bring them up to date with the 21st century.”
