New Delhi: Reacting to the arrest of former Karnataka minister G Janardhana Reddy, the Congress on Monday said the law will take its own course and the mining baron`s arrest will be a lesson for everyone.
"Whoever is involved, whichever the party or status he belongs to and whichever authority he occupies, law will take its course," Union Corporate Affairs Minister M Veerappa Moily told reporters outside Parliament.
"This is a lesson for everyone who occupies office as a minister or an officer that they should not misuse the office," he said.
Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law B Srinivasa Reddy were early Monday arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in an illegal mining case.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla said: "Law is taking its own course... the government does not interfere in the functioning of the CBI. CBI is investigating the matter. I think we should have faith in the law."
