Math inmate stabbed; attacker arrested in Mangalore

Mangalore: An ashramite died after he was allegedly stabbed by another inmate at the Kashi Math near here, police said on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Prabhu, a cook at the Math,Mangalore North Commissioner Manish Karvekar said.

Nanda Kumar Prabhu, who is also working at the Math, picked up a quarrel and snatched a fruit-cutting knife in the melee which unfortunately pierced Mahesh`s chest puncturing his heart,he said.

Nanda Kumar has been arrested, he said.
