Moily on Saturday favoured an inquiry by Lokayukta into the alleged
land scams that have taken place in the BJP Government led by
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.
The judicial probe now ordered would be of no utility
in bringing out the truth, he told reporters after attending a
"Since the Chief Minister himself is facing
allegations of his involvement in land scams what is the use
of seeking a judicial probe into them?" said Moily, whose
party -- the Congress -- has been demanding the Karnataka
Chief Minister`s immediate resignation.
Asked about Katta Subramanya Naidu resigning as
Minister for IT, BT and Housing yesterday following the
Lokayukta filing an FIR against him over a land deal, Moily
said "it is not only Naidu who is guilty. There are others
also who have to quit."
