Offices, homes of 7 officials raided in 21 places in Karnataka

Lokaykuta police raided offices and premises of seven government officials at 21 areas across Karnataka.

Bangalore: Lokaykuta police raided offices and premises of seven government officials at 21 areas across Karnataka and found them to possess assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

The raids were conducted at various places including Bangalore, Mysore, Bijapur, Ranebennur, Davangere, Mulbagal, Kolar and Chamarajanagar, a Lokayukta press release said.

Executive Engineer L Raghu, National Highways Bangalore division was found to possess disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 2.75 crore, while Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Bijapur division, Vijayanama was found to possess disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 1.59 crore.

Junior Engineer Zilla Panchayat Sub-Division, Mulbagal, M Ravindrakumar was found to disproportionate assets worth Rs 65.14 crore and Councillor Chamarajanagar City Municipality, Nanjundaswamy was found in possession of disproportionate assets worth Rs 48.73 lakh, the release said.

Executive Officer, Taluk Panchayat Ranebennur, Haveri district, S Ugginappa, was found with disproportionate assets worth Rs 44.54 lakh while Revenue Inspector, Mulbagal K V Subramanya who joined service in 1986 was found to possess disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 42.37 lakh.

Panchayat Devlopment Officer, T M Hosur gram panchayat in Srirangapatna was in possession of disproportionate assets worth Rs 37.67 lakh, the release said.

The searches are continuing.
