Police crack 158 cases, arrest 82, seize property worth 1.60cr

Police cracked 158 cases with the arrest of 82 persons and seizure of gold, cash, vehicles and other valuable worth Rs 1.60 crore in separate incidents in the past one month in various parts of the city.

Bangalore: Police cracked 158 cases with the arrest of 82 persons and seizure of gold, cash, vehicles and other valuable worth Rs 1.60 crore in separate incidents in
the past one month in various parts of the city.

Addressing media, Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Alok Kumar said the cases cracked included seven robbery cases, 12 chain snatching, 23 cases of house breaking, 11 house thefts, 79 motor vehicle thefts, 24 ordinary thefts and
one case relating to violation of wild life Act.

The property seized incuded 3.396 kg of gold ornaments, 6,950 kg of silver articles, four cars, 69 motor cycles, six laptops, 34 mobile phones, 13 gas cylinders, six
autorickshaws, one pistol and ammunition, he said.

Highlighting the main cases, he said in Commercial Street, 30 cases were detected, including one house theft and 25 motor vehicle theft cases. Totally property worth Rs 11 lakh was recovered from the six arrested.

In Pulikeshinagar, police recovered 684 gms of gold ornaments, 1.3 kg silver, six vehicles and cracked 22 cases with the arrest of 15 persons.
